Hotdog Horvat! Canucks Bo Horvat Scores Tiny Fan A Wiener Dog
Whelp, 2017 is comin’ in hot.. This is already our favorite story of the year, and it’s going to be hard to beat. Wednesday night at Rogers Arena, 6 year-old fan Adley Hefter and his dad Aaron settled into their seats to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks. Tiny comic genius Adley brought a homemade sign with him that has exploded all over the interwebs. The sign read: “BO MY DAD WILL BUY ME A WIENER DOG IF U SCORE ps: I will name him Hotdog Horvat“. This sign was directed at Adley’s favorite player on the Canucks, Bo Horvat.
BO HORVAT SCORES A WIENER DOG
Horvat noticed the sign earlier in the game, and Adley had also been shown on the jumbotron, so the whole crowd was behind him. Then magically, with about 6 minutes left in the game, Horvat scored on Arizona Coyotes goalie Mike Smith. The Canucks went on to win the game, and Adley went on to win his wiener!! To top it off, Bo Horvat made sure Adley went home with his signed stick.
“To get the goal for the kid is pretty funny,” Horvat said. “Hopefully he gets that wiener dog. I’m a huge dog person. I love dogs, have a dog of my own, a French bulldog. His name is Gus.”
LOOK HOW CUTE GUS IS! 😍 @gus.frenchie_
Adley’s dad Aaron fully intends on holding up his end of the bargain. They want to make sure Hotdog Horvat is adopted, so they are awaiting recommendations from local shelters.
HOTDOG HORVAT NIGHT!
The explosion of #hotdoghorvat on Twitter, and all the excitement from the game has also inspired an awesome charity effort. Tonight at Rogers Arena, they are hosting a special Hotdog Horvat night. A limited amount of #hotdoghorvat shirts will be sold, and also special edition hotdogs. 🌭 100% of the proceeds from these items will be donated to the BC SPCA (British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
I hope they raise a ton of money, and Paws Buzz Go can’t wait to see the pictures when Adley & Aaron bring Hotdog Horvat home! 🐾
